As one of Securly's co-founders, Bharath wrote the first version of the company's core filtering engine and led the sales team that sold the first 200 accounts. He wore many hats as the company grew, including serving as Securly's first sales engineer, customer success manager, demand generation marketer, and renewals manager, and built and scaled the company's support and marketing teams. Bharath has a Masters in Computer Science from Washington University at St Louis and over a decade of enterprise security and engineering experience including an Architect level role at Huawei-Symantec.
AJ is a channel veteran with over twenty years of experience in IT sales and channel management, and has spent the past ten years driving channel sales in the cybersecurity space. AJ joined Securly to scale the company’s sales and customer engagement through channel partners. Prior to joining Securly, AJ has had consistent success growing channel sales by 100% YoY at web filtering and K-12 focused companies, including M86 Security and Aerohive. He has a history of building long-term, successful partnerships with VARs and DMRs and is doing the same at Securly.
Scott comes to Securly with more than 14 years of industry and public accounting experience. Having previously served as Senior Vice President of Finance at DynamicAction, a prescriptive analytics solution built for retail, and as Vice President of Finance for Revel System, an iPad-based point of sale solution, Scott is no stranger to hyper-growth startups that have found product market fit. At Securly, Scott holds responsibility over all accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, treasury, risk, and tax activities of the company. Scott began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Audit and Assurance practice, and is an Active Certified Public Accountant in the state of California. Scott graduated from Santa Clara University in 2006.
Jon has spent 20+ years driving growth at leading enterprise software companies, including IBM and Microsoft, with 10 of those years dedicated to the education market. While serving as the VP of K12 Sales at Instructure, Jon achieved significant growth for their Canvas LMS and Assessment business. Responsible for Securly’s revenue generation strategy and execution, Jon oversees the sales, customer success, and channel teams to ensure our go-to-market initiatives are aligned to best serve the needs of K-12 and primary/secondary school staff, communities, and students. Jon received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington with concentrations in Business and Mathematics.
Ivan joined Securly with over 25 years of experience in marketing leadership positions, where he has consistently driven growth and enhanced market presence for enterprise-scale software companies. His career began in enterprise software, holding key marketing leadership roles at organizations such as IONA Technologies, DataSynapse, and TIBCO Software. Over the past decade, Ivan has shifted his focus towards K-12 education technology, serving as the EVP Marketing for Schoology and VP Marketing for PowerSchool.
Ivan is committed to Securly's mission of ensuring the safety, security, and readiness to learn for K-12 students. In his current role, Ivan is responsible for raising awareness and generating demand for the company's leading suite of K-12 safety and wellness products and solutions. Furthermore, he is committed to upholding Securly's dedication to meeting the essential needs of its customers.
Neeraj laid the foundation for Securly’s India R&D center and along with Alpana, VP of India Operations, has built a robust and scalable product development operation for the company over the years. A Network Security veteran and threat detection expert, Neeraj has over 15 years of experience in the Enterprise Network Security domain. He is the primary inventor on two patents and has designed malware research infrastructure and security visualization tools. Neeraj has spent his career building threat research teams dealing with complex solutions for malware, reverse engineering, and network security. He shares his technology knowledge through security blogs and online media.
Alpana is a co-founder of Securly’s Pune office and one of the driving forces behind the success of the Securly’s R&D operations. Alpana has 15 years of experience in technical, managerial and research roles and laid the groundwork as the Pune office’s first Director of Program Management. Currently, Alpana oversees engineering, HR, office, and people operations in the India office. When not working, Alpana enjoys volunteering and spending time with her two adorable kids.
Mike is an award-winning principal from North Carolina who joined Securly to champion student safety initiatives and drive adoption of SecurlyHome, the K-12 industry’s first parent engagement solution. As a school leader with extensive first-hand experience managing incidents of student cyberbullying, threats of violence, and self-harm, Mike brings the experience and passion necessary to guide school districts on their journey to enhanced student safety using the latest advanced technologies. Additionally, Mike serves as General Manager of Securly’s rapidly expanding eastern headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
Michele brings over 20 years of Human Resources leadership experience from a variety of industries including healthcare at Aramark, software technology at Aspect Software, and most recently mortgage at Celebrity Home Loans, LLC. She has successfully built strong collaborative partnerships within organizations helping to cultivate high-caliber teams and foster impressive business growth. In addition to earning a BA in Psychology, Michele holds both SHRM-SCP and SPHR professional certifications.
Jarrett is an entrepreneur and leader with over twenty-five years of experience in EdTech. He began his career in the 1990s working under IBM’s educational division, EduQuest, and since then, has founded multiple educational technology companies and provided technology consulting for K-12 districts. Through his work with K-12 districts, Jarrett saw a growing need for a mobile device management system that would meet the needs of the K-12 market, and founded TechPilot Labs in 2012. Securly acquired TechPilot Labs in 2019, and Jarrett serves as General Manager of Securly’s MDM and Classroom Technologies division.
Brian currently serves as Vice President and General Manager, Eduspire, overseeing all day-to-day operations and directly managing the client support, sales & marketing, and product & technology areas of Eduspire's products for Securly, following Securly's acquisition of Eduspire Solutions in November 2022. At Eduspire, Brian was the original President, who grew the company and its products to be used by millions of students in thousands of schools across all 50 states. Prior to joining Eduspire Solutions, Brian held senior executive positions in several marketing agencies and previously worked in the analytics field of the financial services industry, with companies such as FICO and Oliver Wyman. Brian has his bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton University and his MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
Josh is a former mental health clinician, experienced entrepreneur, and one of the co-founders of Rhithm. As the VP of New Product Innovation (Wellness) Josh weaves his unique clinical background with his technical and business experience to lead innovative wellness product initiatives focused on enhancing the well-being of students and staff.
David Hinkle is a seasoned software engineering leader and mentor with over 20 years of experience in the EdTech internet filtering industry. He is a technical expert in various domains, including Linux, DNS, TCP/IP, OpenSSL, HTTP/HTTPS, software development, AWS, performance tuning, and AI. Currently, he serves as the Vice President at Securly. David's leadership has been instrumental in driving Securly's growth and success, and the invention of SmartPac technology is one of his prominent contributions. Before joining Securly, David worked at Cipafilter for 16 years, where he was the technical co-founder. During his time at Cipafilter, he helped build the company's technical infrastructure from the ground up, and his technical expertise was vital in its success.
An educator for over 25 years, with 20+ of those years in educational technology, Tracy is an education leader with expertise in Business Development, Education Strategy, Education Policy, Digital Teaching and Learning, Virtual Schools, non-profit management and leadership. She has held national, state, district, and school level leadership positions and specializes in working with state education agencies as they leverage digital platforms to support statewide initiatives.
For over 16 years, Scott has managed respiratory practitioners, medical extraction teams, and now customer success managers, ensuring that his teams thrive in their duties. Whether it’s in the military or with Securly, his career has always been focused on saving lives and having a positive impact.
Matt Crump is a Managing Director of Golden Gate Capital, which he joined in 2011. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Crump worked at Audax Private Equity. Mr. Crump has an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA in Biology, with Distinction, from the University of Pennsylvania (summa cum laude).
David Dominik is a Managing Director of Golden Gate Capital. He has extensive private equity investment and operational experience, especially in a broad range of technology-related industries. Prior to Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Dominik spent ten years as a managing director at Bain Capital, where he was responsible for managing Information Partners, a specialized fund within Bain Capital that focused on software, information services, and transaction processing companies serving a broad range of end markets. He also built several scale companies in the semiconductor and electronics industries. Mr. Dominik served on the investment committee of Brookside, Bain Capital's public equity hedge fund, and opened and ran the California office for Bain Capital. Previously, Mr. Dominik was a partner at Zero Stage Capital, an early-stage technology venture capital firm where he helped co-found several successful technology ventures. He was an early investor and assistant to the chairman of Genzyme Corporation. He also served as a Consultant at Bain & Company. Mr. Dominik has a JD from Harvard Law School (cum laude) and an AB from Harvard College (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
Stewart Bloom is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on the software and business services sectors. He currently serves as Chairman of LiveVox, Neustar and Vector Solutions and as an advisor to Ensemble Health Partners. Mr. Bloom previously held posts as Chairman and CEO of Aspect Software and Escalate Retail, from its inception until the time of its merger transaction with RedPrairie. He has served on the Boards of Golden Gate Capital portfolio companies Infor and Symon Communications. Prior to Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Bloom held positions as Vice President Americas Technology Services for Capgemini and as Senior Vice President for Mainspring through its IPO and subsequent acquisition by IBM. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bloom was a Partner with Ernst & Young Management Consulting following its acquisition of Distributed Systems Solutions International (DSSI), where he was a Vice President and co-founder.
Brian has dedicated his career to developing software in the education industry. Along with his passion for lifelong learning, he has an appreciation for technologies that make education more accessible, fulfilling and safe. Brian began his career at Thomson Learning and later founded two companies: netTrekker and SafeSchools.com, the latter of which was acquired by Vector Solutions in 2017. At Vector, Brian was Executive VP and General Manager, where he led the company’s Education Division, nearly tripling revenue in 3 years. He retired in 2020 and joined Vector’s Board of Directors until their 2021 acquisition. He has a BA from Judson, an MBA from Xavier, and Executive Education from Columbia.
Carolyn Parent is Entrepreneur in Residence at Hearst, a greenhouse that provides investment resources for early-stage, women-led startups. A trailblazer in the real-time event analytics market, she brings to Securly her vast experience guiding Fortune 100, mid-market, and startup-stage companies to unprecedented growth. Prior to Hearst, Carolyn was President and CEO of LiveSafe, which under her leadership became the leading mobile risk intelligence solution for safety and security incident prevention, response, and communication. Other past roles include her successful tenure as co-founder of Gravy Analytics, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Deltek and, before that, as a national director for BearingPoint.
Adam Truex has worked 18 + years as a technologist for OME-RESA. OME-RESA is one of 18 information technology centers (ITC’s) within the state of Ohio. OME-RESA provides internet and data services to 56 independent school districts within southeast Ohio. As the former CTO for the organization, he was responsible for ensuring his member districts had access to robust, reliable and CIPA compliant internet service. As the demands for internet continued to grow exponentially, OME-RESA found itself struggling to provide reliable internet services to its stakeholders with the conventional appliance-based solutions that had been the standard ITC solution for many years. This coupled with the emergence of "one2one" technologies, led Adam and his team to explore Securly as the next generation of content filtering for OME-RESA’s member districts.
Dr. Barbara Nesbitt is a lifetime educator with more than 30 years in education. She has been a teacher, instructional coach, administrator, and consultant with broad experiences in school districts in Virginia and South Carolina. She is currently the Executive Director of Technology for the School District of Pickens County in South Carolina. In this role, Barbara led the district’s transformation of instructional technology from a Bring Your Own Device district to a 1:1 district with a fully interoperable digital ecosystem implementing the IMS Global standards. Under Barbara’s leadership, Pickens received federal funds for a leased dark-fiber ring network, which is expected to future-proof the district’s broadband needs for decades.
Brad graduated from Indiana State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a Computer Endorsement. In 2015, Brad was selected as the Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators (HECC) Technology Coordinator of the Year. Warsaw Community Schools selected Securly as their new web filtering and safety platform due to their comprehensive approach to keeping student’s safe. In 2013 Brad was certified as a CoSN Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL). In 2013 he was also selected by the National School Boards Association as a “20 to Watch” Educator for 2013-2014. In 2009, Brad was elected to the board of the Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators (HECC) organization and was chosen to serve as President in 2012.
Kinzie Wooderson has been the Coordinator of Network Services at Lee's Summit since 2013. She has worked in the field since 2006 with 3 years with a local government entity and the rest of her time being in K-12 support roles. Her team implemented Securly in 2015 with the launch of their district-wide 1:1 initiative for over 18,000 students on Chromebooks. Lee's Summit was drawn to and found success with Securly for the product's ability to eliminate the need for onsite hardware allowing for scalability as bandwidth use has grown and DNS offerings for non-Chromebook devices resulting in a single content filtering solution for the networking team to support. The District leverages the Parent Portal to support parents and guardians with the use of Chromebooks at home.
Shane has been in education for over 18 years in network engineering and most recently information security. His district implemented Securly after struggling with an appliance-based off-site filtering solution. VBCPS selected Securly for its ease of implementation and reputation as an educational based filtering solution. In addition to easing VBCPS’s implementation issues, Securly’s student safety solution has helped to save lives in the district by alerting school authorities when students are in crisis and the Parent Portal is giving parents the needed insight into their children's browsing activities.
Tom Walker has been in education for 12 + years as a mathematics teacher, technology coordinator/director, principal, district administrator, and college instructor. Massac Unit #1 implemented Securly in 2013 after looking for a scalable, appliance-less cloud-based filtering solution. Securly was in line with his district’s approach to moving services to the cloud, which helped ease the burden on not only the network, but the staff as well. Securly has not only kept Massac Unit #1’s students safe online, but has also allowed the district to remain proactive in their efforts against school violence through the use of Securly’s Auditor. The tool has given the district the ability to reach out to students in need and continue to nurture positive relationships with those students.
Since 2013, Lisa has relied on Securly in her roles at Holy Names HS, Lafayette SD, and currently at Union SD, which Lisa describes as, “...the most amazing district in the world!” With Lisa at its helm as Director of Technology, Union SD is viewed by many other districts as setting the standard. Lisa describes her free time as seemingly spent carpooling to or from the office. Hooray for drive-thru coffee!
Craig began partnering with Securly in 2017 when Eastern Carver County Schools needed to find an easy filter that continued working even when kids took devices home. In addition to its Personalized Learning, Craig feels that the changes made to ensure cyber and physical safety helps Eastern Carver County to stand apart. Outside the office, Craig can be found working hard at playing with his grandkids. Get some rest, Craig.
As Chief Technology Officer at Perry Township Schools, Matthew believes technology should continue to keep kids safe even when they’re away from school. He likens the importance of teaching kids to be better citizens as “...growing precious cargo.” This extends to their lives online. And if he’s ever asked to name a sandwich? It will be the Hunger-Solving Avocado Lettucewich. No word yet on whether it comes with chips.
By implementing Securly, TJ believes the online world will evolve into a safe place of community and collaboration. This drive for a better digital world is a big reason why Madison Metro School District’s 1:1 program is so successful. As Director of Instructional Technology and Media Services, TJ trains students how tech can be used to build each other up. TJ also believes that the only justifiable attack is a Mac Attack w/bacon.
